Kristin Fischer will join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She covers everything, from NASA as well as Space Force, Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of Space Tourism. Being the child of two NASA astronauts, Kristin has a background in the field of space and has worked for the past five years covering the Trump and Biden Space policies of the administration as an White House Correspondent for FOX News. Through that time she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, the impeachment trial, two efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus and two other administrations' initiatives. Kristin travelled extensively, both with the president and vice-president. She even went on a top-secret trip to Afghanistan alongside Donald Trump. Before becoming a part of the company in, Kristin spent nearly a decade working her way up through the local news channels in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin, who is an experienced filmmaker, established Field Mouse Films, a firm that is specialized in documentary style films, for companies such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Boston University. The place she lives is Washington, D.C., with her family, including their daughter, who is three years old.
